Sonita Morin Abrahams is the Executive Director of RISE.  She joined the organization in October 1990 and is a member of several Boards locally and internationally.  Ms. Abrahams is a recognized consultant/trainer and has a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters degree from Johns Hopkins University in Health Sciences.

Mrs. Jan Lopez is a qualified addictions counselor with over 16 years experience.  She is presently our Financial Administrator and has been with the organization since October 1990.  Mrs. Lopez is a recognized expert in the field of substance abuse and holds a Certificate in Addiction Studies from the Uuniversity of the West Indies, Mona.

Richard Henry joined the RISE family in September 2005 as Project Coordinator for the Gambling Prevention Programme sponsored by the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission.  Mr. Henry has a Bachelors degree in Psychology and is presently pursuing his masters in Counselling and Consulting Psychology. He is responsible for the Counselling Services for substance abuse and problem gambling both from  prevention and treatment perspectives, and also for the development and monitoring of  lifeline telehealth service and our Employee Assistance Programmes

Shawn McGregor first entered the organization in 1998 to be trained as a youth facilitator.  Over the 8 years that Shawn has been with us his growth and development as a young man has been extraordinary – he served as the Youth Ambassador for CARICOM between 2002 and 2005; obtained a diploma in Computer Studies and Management; and studied Spanish at the University of Grandma, in Cuba.  At present Shawn is a senior Facilitator and Assistant Programme Manager in the SYMBA Project.

Debbie Pinto has been with the organization since February 1990.  Ms. Pinto is a Certified Professional Secretary and has Certificates in the field of Marketing and Public Relations.   Ms. Pinto recently completed a 2 year Certificate course in Non-Government Organization (NGO) Management.

Madge, Delcita and Winston Morgan are from a large family well known to the community in which RISE operates.  They have been with us since 1994 when we purchased the building.  The trio sees to the security of both personnel and property and contributes to the general upkeep of the workplace.  These very important persons are depended on daily for keeping us informed about what is happening on the ground, in and around the community.
