RISE Frequently Asked Questions
About RISE
What does RISE stand for?
RISE stands for Reaching Individuals through Skills and Education.
Help for a Loved One
Where can I get help for a family member?
If you need help for a family member, please call our telephone lifeline service at 1(888)991-4146 and a counselor will give relevant information on all the services that are available.
How do I know if my child is taking drugs?
When children start using drugs, they often exhibit signs which parents need to watch for. Unfortunately, many parents often write-off these signs as normal adolescent behavior and as a result do not realize that their child is into drugs. So how can you, as a parent know for sure whether or not your child is in danger? There is no simple answer to that question - but the best way is to know your child and understand that all children will be exposed to drugs at some time in their life. The parent who says "not my kid" is the same parent who will miss the signs that their child has started experimenting with drugs. Visit our How Do I Know if my Child is on Drugs? page to understand the signs that you should be looking for.
How do I get my child into the remedial programme or to access any of your other services?
These services are made possible through the Citizens Security and Justice project and are available to adolescents and community members from Parade Gardens, Allman town, Flethers land, Waterhouse, Towerhill and Drewsland.
