RISE Life Management Services (formerly The Addiction Alert Organization) will receive a grant from the Jamaica Social Investment Fund, which will enable them to expand its services to young people and adults from the inner city communities it serves.
The Financial Agreement for this programme will be signed on Thursday March 23rd at 3:00 p.m.at 57 East Street, Kingston, the headquarters of RISE. Guest speaker will be Kay Osbourne, General Manager of TVJ.
The grant will enable RISE to modify and refurbish its existing offices to provide an expanded computer lab, classrooms, counseling and training rooms.
Established in 1989, RISE which is an acronym for Reaching Individuals through Skills and Education, offers a wide range of prevention programmes that focus on at-risk youth, family members and other adults from inner city communities. These programmes are designed to equip them with skills and education which will help them to deal with potential social problems and develop healthy behaviour patterns.
